The Empowering Citizens Through Technology and Participation Symposium - aims to build on the achievements from previous Symposia through a strong agenda which attracts a wealth of experienced and prestigious speakers from across the UK and Europe.

In order to ensure as many people as possible have the chance to share in the learning from the event, the main workshops at the Conference have been webcast and archived.

Upcoming and most recent Workshops are displayed on the right hand side of this page. To view an archive of a recent meeting simply click on the title of the workshop you wish to view. If you would rather use a text based version of the player then please use the 'text' link at the top of the player window for the item you are viewing.

What is a Webcast?

A webcast is basically a transmission of audio and video over the internet. Video cameras at our council meetings capture the live information and send it to a central server, which in turn sends it to anyone that would like to view the meeting. Through the use of your internet connection (either broadband or via a dial-up modem) and Microsoft's free player you can view the meetings live from the comfort of your own home.

Should you miss a meeting, or would like to view a section of the meeting again, then you can view the archive of the webcast. The archives allow you to view the meeting at you leisure and, through the use of the index points, allow you to jump to a specific agenda point or speaker.
